A message from the Village Hall Committee – Support Your Village – Help Save Salings Village Hall!

Salings Village Hall is at risk of closing unless more people step forward to help. Following our recent AGM, we urgently need 6–8 new volunteer committee members to share the responsibility of running this vital community hub.

We are a registered charity, and to continue operating, we must have enough trustees and active members. Right now, we are facing the real possibility of being left with just one committee member – something that is not permitted under charity governance rules.

How you can help:

  • Join the committee as a volunteer – we welcome all ages and backgrounds.

  • Offer a few hours a month to help with planning, bookings, maintenance, or fundraising.

  • Get involved with a friendly team committed to keeping the Hall open and thriving.

  • Consider applying for a paid part-time caretaker role – responsible for opening/closing the Hall for bookings.

We’ve reached out through the Parish Magazine over recent months, but we now must be frank: without new, enthusiastic support, we will have no choice but to stop hiring out the Hall – a key income stream needed to keep it running.

If you’d like to:

  • Give back to your community

  • Meet new people

  • Support a much-loved local venue

  • Earn some extra income (as caretaker)

Then please get in touch with Clinton Cornish on 07719 280842.

Let’s keep Salings Village Hall alive – for events, for memories, for the future.
Please don’t wait – get involved today.
